The Living Garden Workshops

Small group garden workshops – with real world advice.

Come learn in KC's own gardens — a warm, hands-on setting where three decades of plant experience meet practical, everyday gardening. KC leads small intimate workshops (weather permitting) right in her beautiful, working beds and water features — you'll walk the planting areas, see seasonal combinations in person, and get one-on-one tips tailored to your site and skill level. If the weather won't cooperate, lessons move to Zoom.

It's not too late to improve your landscape! Fall is the ideal time to plant, divide, transplant, and rejuvenate your garden. Learn how to correct overgrown beds, struggling plants, disease, storm or animal damage, and poor plant placement. KC will review submitted photos and share practical, budget-friendly ideas you can apply this season.

KC brings 30+ years of experience with perennials and water features as a designer, speaker, and writer. Founder of Hawk's Nest Nursery and now principal of Gardening Matters, she specializes in inventive perennial combinations, water-feature design, and practical, low-maintenance solutions. Her work earned national recognition (2003 Ground Zero — top tier of 13,000 entries). KC also leads popular workshops like Spring Into Action and The Four-Season Garden, and writes regularly to help gardeners turn ideas into thriving landscapes.
